Shining Through Shadows

First  Official Public Event- May 3,2014

First Official Fundraising Event - July 20,2014

THANKS!  1/19/14

Thank you to the musicians and friends who gathered Friday night at Baroos in Indialantic as part of the filming of the special live performance for the SKUM Rocks! movie. The organizers of that event took the initiative to put our nonprofit organization, Shining Through Shadows Inc., in the spotlight. Their effort to launch awareness about our foundation on a global stage... priceless!  Our heartfelt appreciation to the band members and crew of the Scoobee Doos, Skum, and Pinch, as well as the special appearances by Frankie Banali and Martika, for being a part of a memorable night of great music.

Another step forward...

Check delivered to Brevard Schools Foundation for the first Shining Through Shadows Resilient Spirit Scholarship.

Approximately 50 friends gathered in support of the first official Shining Through Shadows fundraiser, generating donations totaling $1,965 toward our initial goal of raising $5,000 in 2014. Thanks to Tanya and Neil Tewksbury for hosting this event.

At one time, Seth Stark was the local  manager for the Scoobee Doos. He was very excited about the band members participation in the Skum Rocks! Movie project.  In fact, Seth appears briefly in the film at one of the recording sessions in South Florida a few years ago and will be recognized in the movie credits!

This group of musicians have shown perseverance with  the making of  this movie project, which has spanned  a number of years. They have generously offered to donate the net proceeds from their performance to Shining Through Shadows as a tribute to their friend, Seth Stark. More importantly, the publicity  generated from this event  will help launch our Shining Through Shadows Foundation on a global stage!

Our first public outing was dampened by rain that closed the event early, but we were able to do a "dry run" of what it takes to get our display set up. Deadline date pushed us to get our official brochures printed for the event.
